Golgari Dragon’s Maze Part 2

Ok, first I would like to start with a quick update. That update being an English image of Flesh//Blood.

Sorry for the sideways image, WordPress does not let me rotate images I add using the images url. My opinion of the card has not changed though.

So on with the new cards. The first one is Deadbridge Chant.

I’m kind of torn on this card. On one hand, I like the fact that it can give me back things from the graveyard, giving it a feel much like the old Dredge mechanic. Also, ether I’m crazy, or that looks an awful lot like the old, very much dead, former guild leader Savra in that art. On the other hand It cost six. Scavenge is already expensive to pull off. Also, as one of my roommates said “[It] has my two least favorite things in Magic on it, the words enchantment and random.” I really have no issue with the enchantment part, but I’m not a fan of random. I would really hate to return something to my hand that I was planning to scavenge that turn. If I can get my hand on one or two of these, I might run them just to feel it out. Who knows, maybe the next card could help with the cost issue.

I’m kind of sad to see this card. See I had a theory that the signets were going to see reprints in Dragon’s Maze. Mainly because when Return to Ravnica came out the released new art assets that showed new signet arts. Two of them were even used for the Golgari and Izzet Sigents in the Izzet vs. Golgari Duel Deck. Anyway, What do I think of the card. Mana production is usually a good thing, and I do enjoy that I can crack it it I need to draw a card. However, it does cost 3. The truth is, I really don’t know what to think of this card. While I did enjoy the keyrunes (which can be seen below), they had the benefit of becoming a creature. This meant that if you needed a cheap blocker or attacker, you could animate it.
